Palms Las Vegas Opens Pool For the SeasonIt may not be summer, yet, but when you’re in the desert, March is as good a time as any to kick off the summer pool season, I guess.

Getting the jump on its competitors, the Palms opened its two-acre $40 million pool area on Friday, well in advance of the official start of summer. No official parties have been planned yet, but guests are free to enjoy the multitude of pools and bars, as well as the cabanas.

Last year’s hit event, the “Ditch” party, will return and is set to launch its 2007 season on Friday, May 18.

With Rehab scheduled to open April 29 and the launch of the pool areas at Tao @ the Venetian and Bare @ the Mirage, I think it’s going to be a hot, wet summer in Vegas this year.

This is really exciting, Palms has one of the best “sceney” pool sides around in Vegas. Its a great move on their part since it is a big draw for the younger crowd to stay at the palms or at least visit because of the pool. Hopefully Vegas will start having some 80+ days.
