Yet another theme hotel has announced plans to build in Las Vegas. California developer Matt A. Rose wants to build what he’s calling The Ultimate Sports Resort on a plot of land eight miles off the Strip in North Las Vegas. The resort would include a 26,000-seat arena, a 5,000-seat aquatic center, an air-conditioned driving range, as well as a 150,000-square-foot casino, 5,500 hotel rooms and 10 nightclubs. The $4 billion project still needs major investor backing before sports fans can get excited about the possibility of this athletic mega-plex making it in Vegas.

I think the new project sounds like a good idea. As a native to Las Vegas it is nice to see some ideas that aren’t 100% tacky. I think with the age of many people moving to Vegas it will go over well. What about outdoor sports? Will they have any shops. Bass Pro Shops in the Silverton was a good addition. People can get all the gear they need and head to southern Utah for some good fishing, atv trails, snowmobiling, etc. For more information about southern Utah visit southernutahestates.com
