Luxor Las Vegas is a hotel and casino, located on the Las Vegas Strip, opposite the McCarran International Airport. What sets apart from other hotels in the area is the special design: the rooms are contained in a pyramid style tower and two twin ziggurat towers. It was named after the city of Luxor, Egypt.
Year opened
It opened on October 15, 1993. At that time, the pyramid was the tallest building on the Strip. The theater and the two towers were added later (in 1998).

There are, in total, 4,407 rooms at Luxor Las Vegas. Out of those, 2,000 are located in the two towers.
The casino
The casino features a total gaming area of 120,000 sq ft. Guests can play over 1,500 slot games. The slot machines feature both old style games and progressive slots, ranging in denominations from $0.01 to $100. The table games include: craps, roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker. There are daily poker tournaments for the guests. A race and sports betting area is also available.
The casino offers free cocktail service to anyone playing table games. Craps, Blackjack and Roulette lessons are offered daily for free. Also, free poker lessons are held in the poker room from Monday to Friday.
