The Arrow Launches on the Strip
There are a bevy of ways to get around while visiting Vegas, including rental cars and the city’s Deuce and CAT buses. Now Vegas.com, the Strip Trolley and the Las Vegas Monorail have partnered together for a new option, called the Arrow.
While at first the Arrow may seem similar to the Deuce, in that they both ferry passengers from the downtown/Fremont area all the way down the Strip to the new Town Square shopping center and South Point casino, there are some major differences.
First, the Arrow breaks down …

Find Vegas Resort Maps Online
Many Las Vegas resorts are so huge they’re like mini-cities, and it’s easy to get lost in them. The resorts do offer maps at their check-in and guest services desks, but what if you want to get the lay of the land before you get there?
Some resorts, like MGM Grand and the Palms, have .pdf maps of their resorts on their websites, but you do have to search a bit for the links. Wouldn’t it be nice to have all of the resort

Keep Cool In the Vegas Heat
In conjunction with the post about Vegas being the second sweatiest city in the nation, I’d like to offer a few tips to help keep the effects of the hot summer weather at bay.
1] Drink lots of water. Sounds simple, right? But it’s so easy to get caught up in drinking soda and all those free cocktails at the slots that we neglect to replace the water we lose through sweating. Experts say by the time you register thirst in hot weather, you’ve already lost enough body water to be partially dehydrated. So start the day with a glass of water and alternate another glass for every drink you have that isn’t water.

Virgin America Flies Into Vegas
Virgin Airlines has been operating low cost flights in Europe and Australia for years. Recently, the airline finally operated their first American flights, after receiving permission to operate in this country as Virgin America, and while there aren’t many destinations so far - just five - one of them is Las Vegas.

Vegas Forums Worth Bookmarking
Here at Las Vegas Logue, I try to bring you the latest and hottest news about the city. But I know that sometimes we all just want to chat with other Vegas-lovers about this and that. When I need Sin City fix, these are the online forums and message boards that I enjoy participating in:
Travel2Vegas - a friendly group that is quick to answer any questions or provide lengthy reports from Vegas trips they’ve taken.
Everything Las Vegas - more question-and-answer than general Vegas chitchat, but you’ll find some great hotel information and more trip reports …

LVCVB Tries New Psychic Ad Promotion to Lure Visitors
The Las Vegas CVB has started a new ad campaign that started running on television last week. Riffing off one of my favorite recent ad campaigns featuring the girlfriend who tries to have a fortune teller read her boyfriend’s mind, the new ad offers up “Vic Wonder: Vegas Visionary.”
Visitors to VegasVisionary.com are greeted by Vic who first asks your name and then offers to tell you your fortune. I’ve tried it several times and gotten a different answer each time, some more accurate to …

McCarran International Airport (LAS)
Most travelers heading to Sin City arrive and depart out of McCarran International Airport - aka, Las Vegas Airport. For those that want to stock up on their Vegas trivia, the airport was named after U.S. Senator Pat McCarran, an influential aviation advocate.
With all the conventions, weddings and Elvis devotees, it should come as no surprise that LAS is the 9th busiest airport in the world. For those that just can’t wait to try their luck - or are hoping to depart on a positive note - the airport has more than 1300 slot machines. …

Las Vegas Amongst Sweatiest Cities In the Country
This week, Old Spice released their rankings for the sweatiest cities in the U.S. and Las Vegas was ranked number two on the list. Phoenix is the only city they considered sweatier than here.
The company says their rankings are based on the average U.S. male/female height/weight, and the average high temperature for 2005 in each of the cities during June, July and August. They went on to say the sweat level was analyzed based on the assumption that the individual was walking for one hour.
