Big names roll into Vegas on tour all the time. Here are the latest concerts announced.
Madonna Will Bring World Tour to MGM Grand
Whenever Madonna takes the stage, you know you’re in for a memorable show. Judging from early reviews, her current “Sticky & Sweet Tour” is no exception. She’s wowing the European audiences with this tour, which is in support of her new #1 cd Hard Candy.
Her tour doesn’t hit North American shores until late fall, but thankfully, one of the few dates is a stop at the MGM Grand on November 8.
The “Sticky & Sweet Tour” is directed by Madonna’s longtime creative collaborator Jamie …

Andrea Bocelli to Appear at MGM Grand
Current Vegas chanteuse Celine Dion once said, “If God had a singing voice, it would sound like Andrea Bocelli.”
Bocelli is a little more modest when speaking of himself, “What I crave most, what I hope to achieve, is to communicate with the listener; to touch them in the same way that I was touched as a child by my favorite singers, who touched my heart, inspired me, could make me cry and make me dream.”
One can say that the Italian-born singer has …

Vegoose Announces 2007 Fest Line Up
Speculation has run rampant about who the headliners of this year’s Vegoose music festival would be. Yesterday, concert organizers announced the full line-up for the two day event.
Taking place Saturday October 27 and Sunday October 28 at Sam Boyd Stadium and Star Nursery Field, the line-up offers artists in genres ranging from rock and punk to rap and reggae.
Among those scheduled to play: Rage Against The Machine; Daft Punk; Iggy & the Stooges (performing the album Fun House); Muse; The Shins; Cypress Hill; Queens of the Stone Age; Public Enemy; Michael Franti & Spearhead; Umphrey’s McGee; Thievery Corporation; STS9; Ghostface Killah & The Rhythm Roots Allstars; Blonde Redhead; Gogol Bordello; U.N.K.L.E.; Ghostland Observatory; Pharoahe Monch; and Battles.
Considering this festival is run by the organizers of the famous Bonnaroo festival, I’m surprised at the lack of jam bands on the schedule. But Vegoose organizers say they have not finished adding to the line-up.
Vegoose will also offer separate ticketed “Vegoose at Night” concerts at off-site venues during the evenings of the festival weekend. The current line-up includes: Thievery Corporation at the House of Blues on October 26; Umphrey’s McGee at the House of Blues on October 27; Michael Franti and Spearhead at the Joint at the Hard Rock on October 27; STS9 at the House of Blues on October 28; and The Shins at the Joint at the Hard Rock on October 28. Sure, all of these bands are in the festival line-up, but these will be full set headlining shows, and not abbreviated festival sets.

Van Halen to Play MGM Grand
![]()
When the semi-reunited Van Halen announced their first round of dates earlier this summer, people were aghast at the fact there were no Vegas dates. Ok, so maybe only I was aghast…but the fact remained that Vegas was not on that list.
Not any more. Just yesterday, the MGM Grand announced that Van Halen would be playing not one but two shows before the end of the year. Can you say whoo-hoo? I knew you could.
VH will be performing on Friday, December …

They are the opening act for Scottish alt-rockers Snow Patrol’s current US tour (tickets are $37, if you’re interested in going), so expect an abbreviated set culled from their five albums.
