Stefani first rose to fame as the lead voice of the Grammy-winning band No Doubt and has truly led a blessed career since. Her current cd, The Sweet Escape, is already platinum …

Spice Girls Reunion Tour to Hit Vegas

Ok, I just KNOW you all have been waiting for this crucial announcement but yes, the newly reunited Spice Girls will be visiting Las Vegas.
On Thursday (June 28) the original five members of the pop vocal group appeared at a press conference to announce they were reuniting for a world tour. It was the first time all five had been in the same room since Geri Halliwell - Ginger Spice to you - left the band at the height of their popularity.
Each of the women will pocket at least 10 million pounds (approximately $20 million US) for the eleven city tour that will visit six continents. Vegas is the second city on that tour, with a scheduled date of December 08, 2007. No venue has yet been named.
Listening to the press conference on the news, it appears that money was definitely the motivating factor behind the tour, as some of the comments made by the group had a bit of an edge to it.

It looks to be a muy caliente fall in Vegas, as it was announced this week the 2007 Latin Grammy Awards will take place at Mandalay Bay on November 8.
The ceremony, which recognizes excellence in Latin Music, has previously been held in Miami, Los Angeles and New York. But for it’s 8th annual celebration, it has chosen Vegas as its host city.
“We are thrilled to be working with Mandalay Bay and Las Vegas, and we look forward to embracing its growing Latin community,” said Gabriel Abaroa, President of The Latin Recording Academy, in a press release.

Vegoose Announces 2007 Fest Line Up
Speculation has run rampant about who the headliners of this year’s Vegoose music festival would be. Yesterday, concert organizers announced the full line-up for the two day event.
Taking place Saturday October 27 and Sunday October 28 at Sam Boyd Stadium and Star Nursery Field, the line-up offers artists in genres ranging from rock and punk to rap and reggae.
Among those scheduled to play: Rage Against The Machine; Daft Punk; Iggy & the Stooges (performing the album Fun House); Muse; The Shins; Cypress Hill; Queens of the Stone Age; Public Enemy; Michael Franti & Spearhead; Umphrey’s McGee; Thievery Corporation; STS9; Ghostface Killah & The Rhythm Roots Allstars; Blonde Redhead; Gogol Bordello; U.N.K.L.E.; Ghostland Observatory; Pharoahe Monch; and Battles.
Considering this festival is run by the organizers of the famous Bonnaroo festival, I’m surprised at the lack of jam bands on the schedule. But Vegoose organizers say they have not finished adding to the line-up.
Vegoose will also offer separate ticketed “Vegoose at Night” concerts at off-site venues during the evenings of the festival weekend. The current line-up includes: Thievery Corporation at the House of Blues on October 26; Umphrey’s McGee at the House of Blues on October 27; Michael Franti and Spearhead at the Joint at the Hard Rock on October 27; STS9 at the House of Blues on October 28; and The Shins at the Joint at the Hard Rock on October 28. Sure, all of these bands are in the festival line-up, but these will be full set headlining shows, and not abbreviated festival sets.
