When it was announced that The Aladdin would be transitioning into a Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, many wondered what would happen to the Morroccan theming of the hotel’s adjacent shopping mall, The Desert Passage Shops.
Well, say hello to the Miracle Mile Shops.
This outlet mall is the largest of the three located in the Las Vegas area. Located several miles south of Mandalay Bay, it has 130 stores for you to choose from. Best of all, it is an indoor mall that is completely air conditioned and can be a nice diversion on a hot day.
Given its size, and the fact that there is a separate annex at the south end of the mall, you will need good walking shoes to make it through the building. There are two food courts, located at either end of the mall, for a little respite. (Although the food offerings are strictly fast food-type joints.) An added bonus near the blue food court is an old-fashioned carousel that will sweep you off your feet and put a smile on your face.
Located in Primm, just 30 miles south of the Las Vegas Strip, Fashion Outlets Las Vegas has over 100 stores to choose from. The mall features many higher-end designers, much like Las Vegas Premium Outlets, but has the advantage of being indoors and air-conditioned, which is a distinct advantage when it is 105 degrees outside. Also to make your shopping expedition a special experience is the relaxing atmosphere at Fashion Outlets, with fountains bubbling throughout the main mall and live music to soothe the soul.
There are 3 outlet malls in and around Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Premium Outlets, located at the northern end off the Strip at Charleston, is an outdoor mall featuring high-end designers, such as A/X, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Elie Tahari, as well as standard brand-name stores like Ann Taylor, Nautica, Banana Republic, Chico’s, and Eddie Bauer. Luggage, shoes, accessories, and housewares are also available in their impressive collection of 120 stores.
