Vic was the first of three neon cowbows that was went up in 1951. It cost $25,000 and was the most famous sign Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO) ever created. It still stands tall above Fremont Street, and stands 75 feet tall above the entrance to the Pioneer Club. How much do you think it weighs? 12,000 pounds! At birth, Vegas Vic was able to say, “Howdy podna, welcome to downtown Las Vegas.” He was, at the time, YESCO’s most ambitious sign.
