1982—Wayne Newton Gets His Own Street

Wayne Newton, the man who has played more than 25,000 concerts in Las Vegas over the last 40 years, has always been big. Hence, his nickname, Mr. Las Vegas. In 1982, the main road leading up to McCarren International Airport was renamed “Wayne Newton Boulevard.”
