Free ‘dive-in’ movies at the Mandalay Bay pool

Thanks to our friend Jen Leo at the Los Angeles Times, we’ve been alerted to a really cool program over at the Mandalay Bay over the next month. They are featuring ‘Dive-In Movies’ out by the pool on three nights, and it won’t cost you a cent. The clever name alone might be enough to get me to show up, although they’ve actually chosen 3 pretty good movies as well.

These are R-rated movies that start at 9pm, so even though this might seem like a worthwhile novelty for the little ones, these are 21+ events so this probably isn’t the best place for them. The Mandalay Bay invites you to, “Come out and watch a widescreen flick while floating in the pool or lounging on the beach,” which sounds pretty nice compared to sitting in this office.

The schedule as of now:

Friday, August 8, 2008
Animal House
Rated R – 9pm

Friday, August 22, 2008
Swingers (Vegas, baby, Vegas!)
Rated R – 9pm

Friday, September 5, 2008
Old School
Rated R – 9pm

wow, this sounds like a really great time. Anytime you can bring together a movie and the outdoors you make for a good time.
