2005 WSOP Event # 2: $1500 No-limit Hold Em

Allen Cunningham, a pro from Marina Del Rey, CA won the first open field event at the 2005 World Series of Poker, and what a field it was. 2,305 players paid $1,500 each to enter into this event, shattering the previous record for a preliminary event, in fact doubling the prior record. Cunningham took the top prize of $725,405, and won his third WSOP bracelet. The ever stoic Cunningham was all smiles for the ESPN cameras as he captured what had to be his toughest tournament crown.
