2005 WSOP Event # 9: $2,000 No Limit Hold Em

“The pros strike back.” It was clear that 2004 was the year of the amateur at the WSOP, and 2005 was turning out to be just as good for professional players. Top pro Erik Seidel put himself into 5th place all time on the total bracelets won list by winning event # 9, the $2,000 buy in No Limit Hold Em event at the Rio. Seidel beat out 1,402 opponents (including the lovely Cyndy Violette heads up) to take down that seventh bracelet, and pocket a cool $611,795
