It was announced this week that Las Vegas is in the market for a pro sports team. Mayor Oscar Goodman says a Las Vegas franchise would be the “world’s team,” and he’s hoping to throw out the first pitch for a Las Vegas baseball team by 2008. In the meantime, Vegas prepares to welcome the pro-sports hoop community, when the city hosts the NBA All-Star Game on February 16, 2007.
