Fabulous Las Vegas in the 50s: Glitz, Glamour & Games
by Fred E. Basten and Charles Phoenix

The 50s were the most formative years for Las Vegas. This is a pictoral look at that magnificent time. This is a collector’s book for those who can’t get enough of Vegas kitch. Yes, you can actually get a glimpse of Ronald Reagan performing with chimps, the early days of Sinatra, and Bing Crosby and Bob Hope teeing off at the Tournament of Champions, as well as walkthrus of the original Tropicana, the Sands, the Dunes, the Sahara, the Flamingo, and more.

I agree that a lot of things were started in Vegas but in general it’s simply a shelter for mob.
