In this week’s municipal primary, long-time Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman was re-elected to a third term by a hefty margin. Coming in with 84 percent of the vote, he easily trumped his nearest competitor, who came in with only 7 percent of the votes.
Goodman, who calls himself the “happiest mayor in the world,” celebrated with supporters after all votes were in. Though he doesn’t have any authority over happenings on the Strip, he says his final term will be dedicated to the continued revitalization of downtown and his efforts to bring a professional sports team to Vegas.
