Blackjack Lingo: “Stay” or “Stand”

As simple as it may seem to some veteran Las Vegas visitors, many visitors don’t know the terminology of the most popular table game.

To “Stay” or “Stand” in the hand means you are through receiving cards, and are satisfied with your result (or simply feel it unwise to take another card). You can accomplish this move by waving your hand once over your cards as if to say “No more”. However, an additional verbal signal is always good, as it eliminates any possible confusion.
