In a craps game, a “Hardways” bet is a proposition bet in the center of the table. When you make a hardway bet, you are saying that the dice are going to come up in pairs. There are four different hardways bets you can make, Four-hard (2 + 2), Six-hard (3 + 3), Eight-hard (4 + 4), and Ten-hard (5+5). You will often see players making bets for the dealers in this sectoin as a form of gratuity. The stickman is in charge of making the box bets and when one is hit you will hear him call it out, “Eight, eight hard!” When it doesn’t hit, he’ll say, “Eight, easy eight,” and the house will take the bets.
