Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Country Club, usually called just “Wynn”, is a luxury casino resort located on the Strip. It is connected to its sister resort, Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. Encore is also a luxury resort, hotel and casino.
Year opened
Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005, 5 years after Steve Wynn purchased the site and on the 55th Anniversary of the opening of the original Desert Inn (which he purchased, along with its golf course).
Encore at Wynn Las Vegas open on December 22, 2008. What started out as an expansion of Wynn Las Vegas quickly became a resort on its own although it shares resources and is connected to its sister resort.

Wynn and Encore are located just opposite the Fashion Show Mall and the Frontier Hotel & Gambling Hall. The Venetian & the Palazzo , as well as Mirage the Hotel & Casino are located close by.
Number of rooms and suites
Wynn Las Vegas comprises 2,716 rooms, ranging in size from 640 sq ft rooms to 7,000 sq ft villas. Encore at Wynn Las Vegas offers 2,034 rooms.
The casinos
The casino at Wynn Las Vegas has a total area of 111,000 sq ft and offers table games, slots, poker and betting services. There are 1,900 slot machines in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $5,000. Windfall – which can only be found at Wynn and Encore – is a progressive slot machine. There are 26 poker tables and the guests can try their luck at the no limit Hold’ Em Daily Tournaments.
The casino at Encore Las Vegas is has a total area of 74,000 sq ft and offers table games, 800 slot machines, 26 poker tables and betting services.
Guests can also play Black Jack at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore pools.
General prices
Both Wynn and Encore are aimed at the luxury crowds so if you are looking for bargains you should look somewhere else. Regardless of the time of year the room rates at either place start at $200 and suites can easily reach $400-$600 per night.

The Wynn Las Vegas alone offers 16 choices, ranging from fine to casual dining, and covering many cuisines, including American, French, Italian and Asian.
