One of the hottest summer tours of 2009 is sure to be Beyonce’s upcoming “I AM…” 19 city excursion. Of course, no hot summer concert itinerary would be complete without a stop in Vegas, but Beyonce is going a step further by ending the first leg with a four-night residency at Steve Wynn’s newest hotel, Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. The dates to mark on your calendar are July 30 through August 2.
That’s right, the pop/R&B diva is bypassing the normal concert venues like MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay Events Center and even the Pearl at the Palms for the Encore. Not much has been released as to ticket prices, but she will play the new Encore Theater, where entertainer Danny Gans performs.
In doing so, she’ll have to alter a part of her stage show which has her out in the middle of the audience on a “B Stage” (see below) as the theater has a set seating chart that doesn’t appear to be that flexible. However, it does mean the four shows will probably be more intimate than the rest of the arena shows on her itinerary.
Also worth noting is that other dates on her “I AM…” tour have a small amount of seats selling for $20, as Beyonce claims she wants to try to make it so all fans have a chance to see her in today’s hard economic times. But with her Vegas dates, there’s no word on if there will be any attempt made to do the discounted seating area.
I’ll be keeping an eye on the latest news as to when tickets go on sale and pricing, but in the meantime, if you want to see Beyonce play Vegas this summer, start booking now for the dates of July 30 through August 2 at the Encore.
