As one of the founding members of the 80s hardcore rap group N.W.A., Ice Cube is considered one of the grandfathers of the musical genre. But don’t think that means he’s old and stale. Despite a burgeoning acting career that includes Barbershop, Friday, XXX: State of the Union and Are We There Yet?, he continues to put out new recordings that continue to invigorate the rap world.
His latest, Laugh Now, Cry Later, is due to be released on June 6, and the rapper is out on tour to drum up support. The tour swings into the House of Blues on May 27, with fellow rappers, Tha Dogg Pound, in tow. It’s sure to be loud and crazy at this 21-and-over only show.
