michaelfranks.jpgThough folk and blues were the roots of Michael Franks early songwriting, it was 1975’s The Art of Tea, a collaboration with Crusaders members Larry Carlton and Wilton Felder, that yielded his signature tune “Popsicle Toes.” In the years that followed, Franks explored Brazillian rhythms with artists like Flora Purim, and collaborated with smooth jazz masters such as Bob James. He is currently working on a new album of material, his first in three years.

Franks returns to the Suncoast Hotel Casino for a three-night engagement starting April 7.
