For most of the 70s and early 80s, Styx had a string of hits with songs that melded progressive rock riffs with epic harmonies and keyboards. From their first charting single, “Lady,” in 1972, the band seemed to have an endless string of hits, including “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Too Much Time on My Hands,” “The Best of Times” and “Mr. Roboto.” Recently, they had a radio hit with a charity cover version of the Beatles’ “I Am the Walrus.”
It’s these hits and more that Styx will be performing when they rock out at Mandalay Beach on June 24.
