Las Vegas is more than just The Strip. Remember, over a million people live here, and they have to eat somewhere. So, if you are tired of the neon and need a distraction from the glitz of The Strip, we present a few restaurant choices that are worth the detour.

For a town that seems to have everything, Las Vegas is surprisingly thin when it comes to great breakfast places. Oh, sure every casino coffee shop can make you a functional eggs and bacon 24 hours a day, but if you are a person who lives for breakfast, there is a place about 15 minutes from The Strip that is worth the drive.

The Original Pancake House do breakfast right. With three locations in Las Vegas, the Original Pancake house has become a local favorite. You can always tell a breakfast place by the hours. The Original Pancake House closes at 2pm (at least the one on Charleston).

With a menu featuring all the traditional breakfast staples, the OPS also have really unique specialties like the Dutch Baby Pancake, which is a must (eat this with Butter, Lemon Juice, and powdered sugar…no syrup – trust me!) and the Apple Pancake, which has fresh Granny Smith Apples strewn throughout. If you are really craving a satisfying breakfast, get off The Strip, and get into an Original Pancake House.

You’re making me hungry! and Dutch Babies, too. I didn’t think anyone made them outside our household…
