Located in the Fashion Show Mall, directly across the street from the new Wynn Casino, Ra Sushi is a study in the new Vegas. No all you can eat specials, no buffets – this restaurant is all about the vibe. Once inside, you could easily be in any trendy sushi spot in New York, LA, or San Francisco. That’s not to say that Ra doesn’t have good food – in fact they do. If I would have to rate Ra, I would say (1 to 10) the food is a 7,the service an 8, and the atmosphere (if you like the modern hip atmosphere) an 8. A patio adds to the appeal, provided its cool enough to eat outside. While not cheap, Ra does have happy hour specials (between 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.) that can ease that crunch on the wallet. Sake enthusiasts will enjoy the selection of hot, and cold Sake.
Overall, if you want the feeling that you are one of the ‘in crowd’, and don’t mind going to a mall for dinner, consider Ra. It should also be noted that they have a roll named after this blog. The ‘Viva Las Vegas†roll is a meal unto itself, and though difficult to eat because of its size, is quite the taste treat.
