Amazing Johnathan Diagnosed With Serious Heart Condition
Last month, I reported that shortly after the sale of the Sahara, one of the hotel’s entertainment draws, Amazing Johnathan, announced was going to be ending his show with the hotel at the end of the year. He wanted to cut back on performing due to a potential health problem.
This week, Review Journal columnist Norm Clarke reported the entertainer has told him that his condition has deteriorated to the point where he might need a heart transplant if the latest round of treatments fail.
Currently AJ is taking blood thinners, trying to lose weight to place less stress on the heart, and is scheduled to have a defibrillator placed implanted later this month. According to Clarke, AJ says this is all due to a virus that has been destroying his heart since he was a child.
Our best wishes go out to the Amazing Johnathan and hope that his current treatments do the trick. He’s a brilliant comedic magician and a truly nice guy (but shhh…don’t tell him I said that last part).

I am so sorry that you are ill. I’ll pray for you and wish you a speedy recovery. Best of luck with your treatment plan. I hope you won’t need a new heart, since they’re so hard to come by.
