Toni Braxton Signs Contract With Flamingo

It was revealed in a press conference this morning that six-time Grammy award-winning singer Toni Braxton has signed an exclusive contract to become the resident headliner at the Flamingo Las Vegas.

The show, titled “Toni Braxton: Revealed,” will start on August 3. Braxton will be perfroming one show nightly (except Sundays) in the theater that was occupied by previous resident artist Gladys Knight. Wayne Newton will be holding court until then.

Braxton’s soulful sultry voice has been gracing the radio airwaves for over fifteen years. Among her many award-winning hits are “Breathe Again,” “Un-Break My Heart” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.” She’s also appeared on Broadway in the musicials “Beauty & the Beast” and “Aida.” Her most recent cd was Libra.

Her Flamingo show will draw on both her musical and acting talents, with a show complete with amazing costumes and dancers. Think a much smaller version of Celine’s stage show.

“I’ve just come off the road doing my first tour in 10 years and I can’t wait to create an exciting new show for the legendary Flamingo,” says the entertainer. “There is nothing like the thrill of performing nightly to a live audience with fans that have supported me throughout my career. I’m looking forward to developing the show for the Flamingo, settling into Las Vegas with my family and bringing Revealed to a whole new crowd.”

Tickets for the first shows went on sale today, as well. Prices are currently set for three tiers: $65, $75 and $100.

Braxton is currently contracted through March 2007 but has options to renew at anytime. That’s good, considering she is rumored to have purchased a multi-million dollar mansion in Southern Highlands to live with her husband and two children.
