Vegas Show News: The Latest on What’s Closing and When
You almost need a score card nowadays to keep track of all the shows closing in Las Vegas. Here’s a quick rundown of the latest shows to close and those that are about to:
- Danny Gans - We reported earlier that Gans was ending his run at The Mirage to make the jump over to the new Encore by Wynn Las Vegas. His final performance dates for the year have just been announced. You have until November 22, 2008 to see him before the move. Remaining shows are priced at $100 a seat, and the show is dark Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, as well as July 4-5 and 8-12.
- Fab Four Mania - The show closed at the Sahara after a brief run earlier this month. Has reopened as Fab Four Live at the Miracle Mile’s V Theater at Planet Hollywood. Tickets for the revamped show are $49 and $64.
- Hats! - This show based on the Red Hat Society was opened with much fanfare by Harrah’s in January…which closed it very quickly and quietly on June 19th, after only six months. Refunds are available at the point of purchase for anyone still holding tickets to upcoming performances.
- Monty Python’s Spamalot - John O’Hurley and company will be ending their run at the Wynn Las Vegas in only two weeks. July 13th is the last date to catch the Tony Award-winning musical. Good news is you can use the code “LAUGHTER” to score a buy one - get one ticket deal for all remaining shows (except VIPP packages) when you call 702.770.WYNN (9966) to order tickets.
- The Musical History of the King - Trent Carlini’s tribute show closed at the Sahara last month. No word on if or when it will resurface elsewhere in town.
- Second City Improv - The comedy troupe will part ways with its long-time home, The Flamingo, on August 1st, 2008. No other details have been released. Remaining shows are on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10pm. Tickets are $49.95 and are available at the Flamingo box office.

Danny Gans is the funniest man alive.
Danny Gans is good, but there’s a much better impressionist in Las Vegas named Larry G Jones. He is way funnier and a FAR better singer/ impressionist.
