Palms Resort Casino

Overview: If this were high school, it’d be the where the popular kids hang out. Some say it stole the hipster crowd from the Hard Rock, but you be the judge. It is definitely a scene and one place you’re guaranteed to see women wearing outfits you only thought existed in magazines. You can actually find Internet rates for the Palms that are under $100/ night. But it’s still a splurge because of all you’re going to add on to it. First of all, the Ghost Bar is worth the $20 cover. I don’t know if it’s worth standing in line for two hours, unless you love people watching, but it is definitely worth the cover. Also the Amp Spa is all class. It’s boutique in size, but that just means you feel more personal service and attention. I swear by the stone massage. Die hard gamblers don’t really make this a regular stop, but they do cater to the poker crowd.

Price Range: Treat yourself

Shows: nothing formal, but look around the place. Celebrities abound

Bars/Clubs: Skin, bar at N9ne, Ghostbar, Rain, Roller Lounge

Restaurants: N9ne, Garduno’s, Little Buddha, Alizé

Known for….the scene. The Palms attracts the hippest of the hip. You’re most likely to see a celebrity in this casino, especially since they film BRAVO’s Celebrity Poker Showdown here in the lounge. The GhostBar line on weekends is quite the site.

The one thing…the pool. It’s a party first, and a rec pool second. The pools are surrounded by two level cabanas, and when they throw their parties (Skinny Dip Tues in the summer) you’re going to find Djs, bands, Blackjack, and mermaids out by the water.
