After years of fronting various rock bands, singer/songwriter Christopher Carrabba decided to form his own band, and Dashboard Confessional was born. Starting the “group” as a solo act with a backing band, Carrabba’s music struck a chord with emo fans with the first album.
In 2001, the single “Screaming Infidelities” received major radio and MTV airplay and by 2003, Dashboard was a full band.
Their newest release, Dusk and Summer, has just been released, so the band is touring in support, with a stop at the House of Blues on July 14. Opening is L.A.’s pop-punk rockers Say Anything and Aussie alt-rocker Ben Lee.
