When the Go-Go’s burst out of the L.A. music scene in the early 80s, they had a infectious pop-influenced new wave sound that just seemed perfect for a summer day. Hits like “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “We Got The Beat” and “Vacation” kept the band at the top of the chart and made them one of the most successful all-female bands of all time.
Following a brief separation in the 90s, which included a solo career for lead singer Belinda Carlisle, the five ladies decided to give it a go one more time. They soon realized they still gelled musically — and the fans were still there, wanting to hear them play.
June 23 finds The Go-Go’s returning to Vegas for a gig outdoors at Mandalay Beach. What could be a more perfect marriage of music and location?
