Culinary Heavyweights Abound: Bellagio

Las Vegas is fast becoming the culinary capital of the United States, drawing in top chefs from both the east and the west coasts. I have found it easier to score a reservation at a top-notch restaurant in Vegas than in San Francisco. If you know when you are going, reservations can be made easily online via the hotel’s website or by calling directly. A sample of the best to be found amongst the bright lights:
Le Cirque is the headliner at Bellagio. A New York transplant, restaurateur Sirio Maccioni looked west to expand his empire. An AAA Five Diamond Award Winner for 2005, it is one restaurant to put on your list to visit. If reservations are hard to come by, you can make a trip to its sister restaurant, Circo, for a more casual dining atmosphere while still enjoying a first-class menu. Julian Serrano, an award-winning chef at Masa’s in San Francisco, brings French-Mediterranean cuisine to Picasso, and Michael Mina does it again, with a self-named restaurant serving his unique blend of California and Mediterranean cuisines.
