Circus Circus Las Vegas

clownCircus Circus is a hotel and casino located on the Strip, in Las Vegas. Owned by MGM Mirage, it features circus acts during the day. A casino opened non-stop, an indoor adventure park and plenty other fun activities complete the attractions at Circus Circus and make it an excellent place for the families to spend a vacation.

Year opened

Circus Circus opened on October 18, 1968 and at the time of opening it was a casino/resort only, without any rooms. In 1974 ownership changed and hotel towers were added to the structure. Later, renovations changed the hotel’s theme as well, from the Standard American circus to Cirque du Soleil-style circus.

Circus Circus is located opposite Algiers Hotel and Riviera Hotel.

Number of rooms and suites

The hotel features a total number of 3,774 rooms. Circus Circus has the only RV park on the Strip, hence offering additional accommodation in the 399 space park.

The casinos

With a total gaming space of 101,000 sq ft and four full size casinos open 24/7, Circus Circus is the place to gamble on the Strip. It offers over 2,000 slot machines, with denotations ranging from $.01 to $25. The table games include blackjack, craps, roulette and a poker room. The race and sports book opens daily at 8:30 a.m. and closes after the last major event of the day.

General prices

Circus Circus is not a luxury hotel but the prices might be a bit too high for those looking for a budget vacation. During the high season, rates reach $150 per night but there are a lot of discounts available, making Circus Circus a good option for a short getaway.

Restaurants

There are only 6 restaurants at Circus Circus and offers a wide variety of cuisines to choose from, although they seem to be focused on the fast-food and buffet style dining.

Circus Circus is the only hotel featuring the world’s largest permanent circus. Additionally, live circus shows take place daily in Carnival Midway.

Circus Circus features America’s largest indoor theme park and the famous Carnival Midway, designed to keep both adults and kids entertained. And of course, there are pools for the families to enjoy and a lot of temping stores filled with gifts and pretty much anything you might want to buy.
