Paradise Tower at Hard Rock Hotel Now Open

Another facet of the Hard Rock Hotel‘s $760-million expansion project is now open as the new Paradise Tower opens slightly ahead of schedule.

Whereas the basic guestrooms in the Casino Tower are decorated in shades of beige and light woods, with accents of purple, green and tan, guestrooms in the Paradise Tower are sleeker and more modern looking in shades of cocoa brown and gunmetal grey, with black and white accents. The PT rooms also use subtle designs in the carpeting and select walls, which I really like.

Another difference is while CT rooms have French doors that open onto faux balconies (you can’t actually step out onto them), PT rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the mountains or the expanded pool area (great for people-watching during Rehab Sundays).

The Hard Rock Hotel says the decor of the new tower was aimed more at capturing some of the upscale business traveler market, which they hope to also lure with an expanson of their meeting space area. Room rates are certainly higher for the Paradise Tower, too. For the next two months, there are a handful of under $100 weeknight rates, but for the most part, weeknights (Mondays through Thursdays) are averaging in the $140 to $190 range and Fridays through Sundays are averaging about $300 to $500 nightly.

The HRH says they are at 95% capacity at these rates, but with rooms going for a fraction of this price on the Strip, time will tell if this is simply curiosity luring guests into spending the extra.

Here’s another photo of the Paradise Towers rooms. What do you think of them?

I’m going to wait until the dust settles a bit before I do a full review of the new tower, so if you end up booking a stay, please drop me a note and let me know how you enjoyed (or didn’t enjoy) your stay.
