Madame Tussauds Las Vegas

There are many Madame Tussauds wax museums scattered around the country, so the fact that there’s one in Las Vegas does not make it particularly unique. Nonetheless, there is always a constant stream of people visiting the attraction.

If you hope to spot a celeb in Las Vegas and don’t have much luck at the restaurants, in the nightclubs or on the casino floors, then this is the place you’re guaranteed to see someone … even if he or she isn’t exactly real. Famous people from all walks of life—from Hollywood film stars (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, anyone?) and musicians (including Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson and Snoop Dogg) to sports stars (like Tiger Woods and Dale Earnhardt) to politicians (ham it up with Barack Obama!)—are found in wax form at Madame Tussauds.

This 30,000 square foot attraction covers two floors and includes eight different themed areas. Although most people who visit Madame Tussauds like to just pose with the wax figures, there are actually a number of interactive opportunities at the attraction as well. For example, guests are invited to belt out their best tune for Simon Cowell, play percussion with wax members of the Blue Man Group, put on a wedding dress and “marry” George Clooney, and climb in bed with Hugh Heffner. One of the more unusual parts of Madame Tussauds is Scream, which is a haunted house of sorts. Set up like a maximum security prison with deranged prisoners on the loose, Scream is a by-choice section of Madame Tussauds that doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the attraction but is still quite popular.

Though an attraction like this has the potential to age over time, Madame Tussauds does an excellent job of keeping new wax figures coming through the doors. Every year there are a few new people who join the scene, making return visits to the attraction at least mildly interesting.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is located at The Venetian but outside of the building, which makes it easy to find. Look for a wax figure or two outside the attraction for a peek at what lies inside.

Prices for Madame Tussauds tend to be a bit on the pricey side ($20+ for adults), but there are many ways to save money on this attraction. There are discounts given for students, military personnel, locals, large groups and online orders. In addition, Madame Tussauds is often included in many Las Vegas tour packages, and there are coupons and discounts for it in a number of the free rags and coupon books available in the city.
