Barry Manilow to Headline at Paris Las Vegas
Last month, legendary music singer/songwriter Barry Manilow announced he was ending his run at the Las Vegas Hilton at the end of the year. At the time there was much speculation as to whether he would relocate or just retire from being a Vegas headliner.
This week, Manilow announced that he would indeed be moving his show – to a Strip location, nonetheless.
On March 5, 2010, Manilow will debut as the newest headliner at Paris Las Vegas. While he will still be singing the hits that have made him a legend, the show itself will be different.
Manilow’s new contract has him performing 78 shows a year for two years in the 1,500 seat Paris Theatre. Similar to Garth Brooks’ recently announced residency shows, Manilow will be performing mostly weekends only. Tickets for performances through July 18, 2010 just went on sale.
Currently announced show dates include:
- March 5-7, 19-21, 26-28
- April 2-4, 9-11, 30
- May 1-2, 7-9, 13-15, 28-30
- June 4-6
- July 2-4, 9-11, 16-18
The weekend of July 9-11, 2010, will also be when the Barry Manilow International Fan Club Convention takes place at Paris Las Vegas.
Ticket prices are $95, $125, $175 and $250 for the once nightly shows that start at 7:30pm. They are available at the Paris Theatre box office, via Ticketmaster, or by calling 800-745-3000.
On the weeks that Manilow does perform, the Friday night show will also offer a Platinum package that includes a front row ticket and a pre-show meet-and-greet with the performer, along with a photo and autograph. Prices for this package were not announced, but I’m told proceeds from each package will go directly to the Manilow Music Project, which will benefit Las Vegas middle and high school music programs. The Platinum package is only available online at ManilowParis.com.
Until Manilow debuts at Paris Las Vegas, there are only three more chances to see his current show at the Las Vegas Hilton. Tickets for the shows December 28-30, 2009, are $65 to $225 and are available at the LV Hilton box office, via Ticketmaster or by phone 800-222-5361.
