Trivia to Impress the Kids: Caesars Palace

Motorcycle daredevil Robert “Evel” Knievel attempted to jump the row of fountains at Caesars Palace on December 31, 1967. He cleared the fountains but smashed on the landing. As a result, he was unconscious for 29 days. Thirty-two years later he married Crystal Kennedy at the site that gave him his fame. Evel was offered $150,000 for the helmet he wore during that jump, but it was always kept in a vault at his bank.
