Mirage: Dolphin Trainer for a Day

tfad_logo.gifHere’s something for the animal lovers to do in Vegas. The Mirage has launched a new Trainer for the Day program that lets guests work side-by-side with animal experts and a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Up to four people each day can experience this rare opportunity to interact with the dolphins.

Participants learn about dolphin health and behavior, as well as the Habitat’s current research projects that aid in the survival of the bottlenose in the wild. This hands-on, educational program includes a light continental breakfast, lessons that review dolphin terms and hand signals, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dolphin Habitat. Participants then change into wetsuits and are introduced to the dolphin trainers for hands-on instruction. Reservations are accepted and can be made for up to 90 days in advance.

When: Monday – Friday
Time: The all-day program begins at 9:45 a.m.
Cost: $500 per person; includes a private lunch; 8×10 photo; admission to Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat; and the choice of a Trainer-for-a-Day T-shirt, beach towel, hat or bag. Each participant may bring an observer for an additional fee of $150. Observers may shadow the participant all day and join the morning orientation and private lunch.
