Amplify Music Festival Aims to Rock Downtown Vegas

Amplify Music Festival Aims to Rock Downtown VegasWhat happens when you mix almost 100 unsigned rock bands with four hot downtown Las Vegas music venues? You have the Amplify Independent Music Competition-Festival, which takes place tonight through Friday (August 8 – 10).

Featuring everything from emo/punk to metal to alt-rock, the second edition of the festival features six stages with a rotating roster of ten bands per stage Wednesday and Thursday nights. Rocking out for the event will be downtown venues of the Beauty Bar (517 Fremont), Brass Lounge (425 Fremont), Jillian’s Las Vegas (450 Fremont) and the Canyon Club at Four Queens. They’re all close to each other, making walking between stages easy.

The list of bands showcasing is quite impressive and includes 13miles, Age oV Reason, Answer Me This, Anyone But Steve, Atlas Takes Aim, Atoms, Attack Ships On Fire, Austin McDonnell, Away Station, BB Shot Bird, Big Beat Battalion, Black Market, The Broadcast, Bullets & Octane, Calibra, Camden, Castles In Spain, Cinder Red, Cold Hot Crash, ConJob, Cookoo, Darque Carnival, Divided By Eli, The Dreaming, Dropface, Dura Hale, Fifty On Their Wheels, Fletch, Friday Night Gunfight, Good Night Sunrise, Guilty By Association, The Harbor, Hold your Ground, Indulge, Inverse, Jed, Junkbox, Killola, Kyle Sherman Band, Labor Party, The Lady or the Tiger, Last Years Forecast, Leaving Springfield, Left Standing, Lips Like Morphine, London Metal Exchange, Lost Disciples, Lydia Vance, Maldroid, Matthew “Rudo” Blackwood, Meaning Thru Madness, Mnemonic, Monster Zero, Moving Picture Show, The New Mothers, Nice Day, Ninefinger, NoSuchRules, Oedipus, One Pin Short, The Opera, Otherwise, Out Of Nowhere, Outlett, Overview, Paredim Shift, Red Flag Warning, Red Hot Radio, Searchlight, Serene, Shatterance, Shattermask, Slow To Surface, Sonic Sedation, SouLogic, Stargasm, StudioStatic, Suffocate The Creep, Superstring, The Strip, The Subtle Way, The Swedish Models, The Tramlines, Theory of Disorder, Twenty Mule Team, UltraViolet, Verbal Ase, Verbatym, Verona Grove, Warner Drive, and Wayward.

All of those bands will be competing for a performance slot onstage Friday night at Jillian’s, where the best band will win over $25,000 in cash & prizes.

And the best part? Just $20 at the door will get you a wristband that admits you to all three nights of the music showcases. You can club hop between festival venues each night to your heart’s content on that one wristband. And what will $20 get you on the Strip for three nights of entertainment? Nothing even close to this.
