2005 WSOP Event # 31: $5,000 No-limit Hold Em-Short handed 6/table

The legend gets bigger and bigger. Doyle Brunson won his tenth WSOP bracelet at the age of 71. Long considered the greatest player ever, Brunson could have had so many more bracelets had he not boycotted the WSOP for several years in his prime to protest the treatment then given his best friend, Jack Binion (son of Benny Binion – father of the WSOP). Doyle outlasted 300 other players to win event # 31 – $5,000 buy in No Limit Hold Em (six handed) in and event that finally ended about 5:00 a.m. Doyle won $ 367,800, a drop in the bucket for the man who may be the most successful poker player of all time.
