Volcano Show at the Mirage

Since its inception in 1989, the Mirage Resort and Casino has provided great free entertainment on the Strip with its elaborate volcano show. The man-made structure, which sits among several acres waterfalls and lakes, spews smoke and fireballs up to 12 feet into the air. Cascading lava flows from the mound.

Though the volcano has always been a crowd favorite, renovations and upgrades in 2008 made it even more spectacular. The fire effects are now accompanied by an exclusive soundtrack composed by Grateful Dead drummer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Mickey Hart, and Indian tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain. Although the crowds can get thick around the edge of the attraction, you can view the spectacle from across the street almost as well.

Hours: Every hour on the hour from 7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
