Reunited Cheech & Chong to Perform at The Pearl

If there was a comedy duo that epitomized the 70s, its the legendary Cheech and Chong. Their free-spirited, and weed-influenced, humor captured the attitude of the times, and they released nine albums between 1972 and 1985. These albums rocketed to the top of the charts and garnered them four Grammys.

Cheech and Chong play The Pearl at The Palms Las VegasThey then took their act onto the big screen, starring in eight films, beginning with Up In Smoke in 1978, and going on to other classics such as Nice Dreams and Still Smokin’. These cemented them a huge cult following.

But all good things come to the end, and by the end of the 80s, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong had gone their separate ways. Marin continued acting, co-starring in series like “Nash Bridges” and in films like From Dusk to Dawn. Chong had some issues with the law, but also appeared on a few seasons of “That 70s Show.”

Last month, the duo announced they were reuniting for the first time in 25 years to do Light Up America, a cross-country tour. Luckily for us, they’ve chosen Las Vegas as one of their tour stops.

Cheech and Chong will perform at The Pearl Concert Theater at The Palms on October 18th. Tickets are priced at $45, $60 and $75, and go onsale tomorrow, August 8th, at 4:20pm (stoner time, man!). They’ll be available at The Pearl box office, as well as via Ticketmaster. You can also purchase them online from livenation.com. Showtime is 7:30pm.

This is going to be one amazing show!

Bill Engvall Turns TI Blue Collar in August

As one-quarter of the Blue Comedy Comedy Tour, comedian Bill Engvall has parlayed his down-home humor into top selling albums, a self-titled TV series (“The Bill Engvall Show” currently airing on TBS) and numerous TV specials.

But it’s onstage where he really wins crowds over, and on August 29th, Engvall returns to Vegas, to take the stage for one night at Treasure Island.

If you want to partake of his comic observations, including his hilarious “Here’s Your Sign” repertoire, tickets area currently on sale, priced at $45 and $60. They are available at the TI box office or by phone at 702.894.7722.

Lewis Black Brings Satire to The Mirage in August

Comedian Lewis Black rose to fame on the Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” with his regular segment “Back in Black” that featured his rants on politics and life in general.

He continues to win fans over with his brand of satire, both on TV, film and via live appearances. On August 30th and 31st, you can see why for yourself when Black takes the stage at the Danny Gans theater.

Tickets are priced at $70 and are available at The Mirage box office and via Ticketmaster, as well as by phone at 702.792.7777. Due to the subject matter and language, all guests must be 16 or older to attend.

I’m guessing with the current state of politics, Black won’t have any shortage of material to comment on, so these should be some great shows.
