Vegas Comedy Notes: David Spade, Jay Leno, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes

David Spade Defects to Planet Hollywood
Comedian David Spade is leaving his recent home at the Mirage for a series of upcoming shows down the Strip at Planet Hollywood.
Spade will perform a 10pm show at the Stomp Theater on the following weekends in 2008:
- Feb.15-16
- March 14-15
- April 11-12
- July 25-26
- Aug. 30-31
- Oct. 10-11
- Oct. 24-25
- Nov. 28-29
Tickets for each show are $90 a person and are available at the Planet Hollywood box office or via Ticketmaster.
Judging from his normal material, full of scathing pop culture observations and adult language, I would say don’t bring the kids to this one.

Jay Leno Adds Spring and Summer Vegas Dates
Unlike Spade, NBC Tonight Show host Jay Leno will continue to jet to Vegas for his weekend shows at the Mirage.
Current dates listed for Leno, who likes to use his Vegas shows to hone his nightly TV monologues, are as follows:
- March 7-8
- April 4-5
- April 25-26
- May 16-17
- July 11-12
- July 25-26
Leno’s shows are all at 10pm at the Danny Gans Theatre and children under 5 are not permitted. All tickets are $90 and are available at the Mirage box office or by calling them at 702.792.7777 or toll-free at 800.963.9634.

Sarah Silverman Visits the Hard Rock For Two Shows
The ferocious and funny Sarah Silverman has been scheduled for two shows at the Joint at the Hard Rock on Saturday, February 23rd.
Silverman is a regular on the Comedy Central network, with a hit self-named series and her various comedy specials. The sharp tongued comedian has also appeared in a variety of film and TV projects, and has done voices for projects ranging from “Robot Chicken” to “American Dad”.
Tickets for each show range from $34.50 to $92 and are available at the Hard Rock box office as well as via Ticketmaster.
Since her choice of stand-up material generally tends to be more adult-themed and often deals with taboos and societal stereotypes in a way that is often considered to be offensive or “non-PC”, I wouldn’t recommend this show for those under 18.

Wanda Sykes to Perform at Planet Hollywood
Comic actress Wanda Sykes will bring her sarcastic wit to the Stomp Theater at Planet Hollywood for a one-night engagement on Friday, March 28th.
Sykes is currently a series regular on the CBS show “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” and can also be seen in theaters in films like Evan Almighty and Monster-In-Law.
Tickets are $66 per person and are available at the Planet Hollywood box office or via Ticketmaster. Her act does use a lot of adult language, so I would say this one is not kid-friendly.
