Mon Ami Gabi – Paris Las Vegas

This fabulous French bistro is located in the Paris Las Vegas, just under the Eiffel Tower. Two good reasons to visit Mon Ami Gabi: the food is mmmmmm-worthy and it has a patio that faces Las Vegas Boulevard, providing you with a great view of the Bellagio fountains and a prime opportunity for people watching. At night it takes awhile to get a table on the patio, but watching the sun set and seeing the Bellagio fountains go off every 15 minutes to a different soundtrack is worth the wait.

The menu has a good variety of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, including an absolutely wonderful chicken liver pate that left me wanting more for days afterward. Salads and soups incorporate fresh seasonal ingredients, along with house standards, such as the onion soup au gratin.

The house specialty is steak frites for a reasonable price with your choice of preparation. The potatoes that come with the meal are far from McDonald’s French fries, and it is a challenge to finish the mountain of potatoes that threatens to topple off the plate. In addition, the restaurant offers filet mignon and hangar steak and various chicken, fish and lamb preparations.

Dessert choices are simple and classic and include the traditional cheese plate. Portions are more than generous, and the chocolate mousse or crepes are more than enough to feed two people easily.

Mon Ami Gabi also has a huge selection of wines by the glass, and the waiters are not skimpy on the serving size. Enjoy one glass with your appetizer and try another with your meal.

In addition to dinner, Mon Ami Gabi is also open for breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch.
