Gordon Biersch Introduces New Tasting Menus

The Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Group has announced that they are implementing a new “Brewer’s Select” prix fixe tasting menu that will be available from now until March 2nd.

Gordon Biersch Introduces New Tasting MenusTo complement the new “Gordon Biersch Roggenbier” brew, made with both rye and barley to give the beer a crisp, spicy finish, both Las Vegas locations will offer a tasting menu consisting of three courses: a choice of Mediterranean Bruschetta, Soup of the Day or Garlic Fries for the first course; “Tawny” Sirloin, Pan Seared Halibut or “Tawny” Sirloin and Shrimp for the second course; and a desert of New York-style Cheesecake.

Prices for the tasting menu range in price from $25.95 to $30.95, depending on the entree chosen.

McCormick & Schmick’s Offers $20 Coupon

You have to venture slightly off the Strip to take advantage of this deal, but when you hear what it is, you will most definitely want to take the trek.

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant is offering an online coupon good for $20 off your next dinner. That’s an amazing deal!

To take advantage, simply make a reservation online at the restaurant’s website and print out a copy of the confirmation. Then print out the online coupon and bring it in with your reservation confirmation and present both to your server when ordering. That’s all there is to it.

McCormick & Schmick’s menu changes daily, with its seafood selections for the evening being whatever was brought in fresh that day. This is the type of place that doesn’t use any frozen seafood. They also have other options such as steaks, pork chops, homestyle meatloaf and poultry on the nightly menu. Average price for a dinner entree is $30 and up, so this coupon is a great way to try out the restaurant if you’ve never been there.

McCormick & Schmick’s is located at 335 Hughes Center Drive, which is just off Paradise Rd about a block north of E. Flamingo Rd. For more details, you can phone the restaurant at 702.836.9000 (or toll-free at 888.344.6861).

Monte Carlo Donates Food

In light of last Friday’s fire at the Monte Carlo and the resort’s subsequent closure, one has to wonder what will happen to all of the food sitting around in the coolers and freezers of the hotel’s many restaurants, going unused and possibly spoiling.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, the resort’s parent company MGM Mirage has quietly donated over six thousand pounds of perishable food items from its various eateries to the Three Square Food Bank. The charity shares its food donations with local nonprofit and faith-based partners operating food pantries, soup kitchens, youth programs, senior centers and other programs in Las Vegas.

I’d like to offer big kudos to MGM Mirage for doing the right thing and using this unfortunate incident to benefit others in the local community.
