Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel

Overview: This downtown iconic legend was once the place to play for both poker and craps. Yes, craps. And even though it lost it’s “Horseshoe” in 2005, it still maintains what really matters—a taste of vintage Vegas. Portraits of poker heroes line the table area, and games like 3,5,7 and Three Card Poker have been added for the nuveau players. In July of 2005 poker grew to such a degree that Harrah’s bought Binion’s for a second to get the World Series of Poker. But many were happy that the final table of this time-honored tradition got to remain on Binion’s ground. We’ll see what happens next year…

Price Range: Budget

Shows: Comedy with Vinnie Favorito

Bars/Clubs: Ah just drink at the tables

Restaurants: The Coffee Shop, Binion’s Ranch Steakhouse

Known for….it’s former owner, Benny Binion and being the birthplace of the World Series of Poker. They also have several weekly poker tournaments.

The one thing…
Keeping it Old School. Though the hotel has changed hands several times since Benny’s days, those that are new to Vegas can still get the Old Vegas feel at Binion’s. And even though lots of the poker dealers have left, you’d be hard pressed to find a poker player who doesn’t still have a soft spot for the “Horseshoe.”
