Riviera Hotel and Casino

Riviera (or colloquially known as “the Riv”) is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip. It was the shooting location for Oceans Eleven (1960) and is one of the oldest and most famous resorts on the Strip. Although there are quite a few shows to catch your attention, you won’t find any hot night clubs here. Still, considering the affordable accommodation prices, it’s worth it to spend your vacation here.

Year opened

Riviera opened on April 20, 1955 as the first high-rise hotel on the Strip. It was also the ninth casino resort to open in Las Vegas. Over the years the resort was home to many famous shows and was also features in many movies. In 1999 it went through a major restoration process to offer a modern look for its guests.

The casino

The casino offers a total gaming space of 110,000 sq ft. Crazy Leroy’s Race & Sports Book – Bar and Grill is the place where those who enjoy betting on their favorite races or matches can try their luck. The casino also offers slots, video poker, a poker room and many table games such as roulette, blackjack, craps and mini baccarat.

General prices

Riviera Hotel is an affordable place to spend a vacation. Rooms start at $34 per night during the weekdays and $79 per night during the weekends and holidays. As summer approaches, the prices tend to be higher, but still affordable. And you don’t need to worry too much about booking in advance (unless you want to stay here during a major holiday).

There aren’t many restaurants at Riviera Hotel but they offer a variety of cuisines, which will satisfy any taste. You can choose among fine and casual dining and cuisines ranging from steakhouse to Italian.
