Stardust Hotel & Casino Will Close

star.jpgMore change is scheduled for the Strip. It was announced yesterday that the famous Stardust Hotel and Casino will be closing at the end of 2006. This piece of Vegas history, which has been open since 1958, will be replaced by Boyd Gaming’s $4 billion development plan to build a world class resort complex called Echelon Place. The new mega-plex will include four hotels featuring 5,300 guest rooms and suites, an expo center and a retail promenade on the Stardust’s 63-acre site. The classic Vegas property will remain open until project plans for the new construction are finalized. Echelon Place is projected to open in 2010. Stop by the Stardust and say goodbye to this Vegas original while you still have a chance!
