Get Ready for the Vegas Prom

Get Ready for the Vegas PromAn annual rite of passage is almost upon us again. Yes, it’s time to break out the finery and corsages as the Vegas Prom is about to take place.

What is the Vegas Prom? It’s a huge party that fetes those movers and shaker who make the Vegas nightlife scene what it is…and everyone is invited.

As with any prom, there are nominations for the Prom King and Queen. Voting is currently open for all to cast their choices from a list of nominees that is currently 25 deep for each category. You can view the complete list and vote at vegasprom.com/nominate.html

If you’re not familiar with any of the candidates, they will all be at Bare pool at the Mirage tomorrow (September 23) for a Prom pre-party.

The Prom itself will take place at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel on October 3, with Guy Wilson (of the Spearmint Rhino) and Shannon Dupont (of Body English), last year’s King and Queen, hosting. Music will be provided by Mickey Swift, The Drummer KC and DJ Orlando.

The party is scheduled to run from 9pm to 1am, with the celebrations moving over to the official after-party at Body English with tunes by djs Dig Dug and Beej. There’s also going to be an official suite afterparty in the hotel, hosted by Spearmint Rhino, featuring djs Jack Lafleur, Shift and Brett Rubin.

Tickets for the Vegas Prom are $60 per couple. Going stag? Then it’ll be $50 for gentlemen and $20 for ladies. There are also packages available for groups attending together, and if you plan to stay overnight, the Hard Rock is offering a $129 rate to Prom attendees.

Your finest promwear is expected, but of course this is Vegas, so the more skin, the better. There will be photos taken, just like at your high school prom, so look good if you’re going.
