Palms Hosts Black & White Party For AFAN This Weekend
The Black & White Party is an annual legend in Las Vegas, raising money every year for Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN). This year the event turns legal age, and celebrates its 21st year with a massive 12 hour party at the Palms.
On Saturday, September 15th, the event will start out with a “topless” VIP pre-party from 6pm to 8pm at Moon nightclub. But it’s not the guests that will be topless — it’s the club. The Palms will utilize the venue’s retractable roof to turn Moon into an open-air nightclub for a few hours. N9NE Steakhouse will provide a mouthwatering sample of appetizers while Frequency provides live music. Macy’s will also host a Black & White fashion show for attendees.
Then as the sun goes down, the Black & White Party will move down to the pool area. Here guests will be treated to sample tastings from some of Las Vegas’ premier restaurants, including BOA Steakhouse, McCormick & Schmick’s, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, RM Seafood, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and Sushi Roku. DJ Axis will man the turntables while Frankie Perez and Green Valley Ranch Resort’s house band, Rich & Famous provide live tunes.
At 11pm, Rain nightclub hosts the official “after-party” for ticket holders, and the party continues until sunrise.
Guests of honor at this year’s event include Mayor Oscar Goodman, Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, and worldwide celebrities and Las Vegas residents Penn & Teller.
Tickets start at $25 for just the after-party at Rain, with the poolside festivities going for $50 (including the tasting menus). $175 will get you into the VIP pre-party at Moon, along with entrance to the poolside portion of the party. Ticket packages, with admission for six, start at $1000 (just admission) and run to $3000 (this includes admission for the whole night, cabana seating at the pool and complimentary bottle service at Rain with 1 bottle per table of six). You can purchase tickets at at number of locations, including the Stuff at the Palms store inside the Palms.
