Akon To Open Rehab 2007

Akon to open Rehab 2007 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las VegasWe’re mere weeks away from the season opener of the ultra-popular Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel pool. Sun, fun, celebrities, drinks, a dj…could it get any hotter? Yes, it can. According to The Circuit, Jack Lafleur, director of promotions at the Hard Rock and co-star of the reality TV series Paradise City, let slip this week that they have a special guest artist booked for the opener.

Grammy-award nominated R&B artist Akon will be performing on April 29, to kick off Rehab 2007. With hits like “Smack That” and “I Wanna Love You,” as well as guest appearances on tracks like Gwen Stefani’s “The Sweet Escape,” Akon is no stranger to the top of the charts and this show will be a warm-up for his upcoming summer tour.

Later that night, I hear Akon will be celebrating his birthday later that evening at Body English, also at the Hard Rock Hotel. Fellow Vegas scribe Xania Woodman will also be celebrating her birthday that night at the club, so if you see her, feel free to buy her a drink.

Speaking of Xania, when pressed for the best spot to take in the energy of Rehab, she says if you can get it, splurge and reserve cabana 40.

General admission to Rehab is normally $30 for men, $20 for out-of-state women, $15 for local ladies and free for hotel guests (up to four guests per room). BUT, for this special opening event, cover will be $40 across the board.

Rehab runs from noon until 9pm, every Sunday from April 29 until fall, and all guests must be 21 or older to attend.
